Breakfast Cereal (Vegan/Grain Free)

When I think of breakfast cereals, I reminisce about the times my brothers and I would sit in front of saturday morning cartoons with our bowls of cereal as we took turns browsing the back of the cereal boxes.

Nowadays, you won’t find mainstream cereals in my pantry. I haven’t eaten cereal from a box in decades. Thinking about breakfast cereals, however, tends to be incredibly nostalgic for me and I find myself craving them. Not so much the cereal itself but more of the feelings I’ve correlated with them. So I started exploring healthier alternatives to breakfast cereals. I managed to put together a cereal that is simple, clean and refreshing in taste. Because of this, it has become my go-to breakfast.

Breakfast Cereal

Serving Size: 1 Person
Prep Time: 5 – 7 Minutes
Cook Time: None

Apple :: Chopped (I like Honey Crisp, Fuji & Pink Lady)
Grain Free Granola :: 1 Cup (I use KitchenFix Grain-Free Granola)
Nut Milk :: 1 – 1 1/2 Cups (Hazelnut Milk, Almond Milk or Soy Milk, Coconut Milk)
Vanilla Extract :: 1/8 tsp (Optional)
Cinnamon :: 1/8 – 1/4 tsp (Optional)

Add chopped apple and granola into a bowl. Pour in your nut milk then stir in vanilla extract and cinnamon. The nut milks I home make are unsweetened. Therefore, I like to add vanilla extract and cinnamon for a bit of sweetness. Enjoy!
