Health Journey Day 4 Update

Today’s forecast: 32°F/0°C and windy. All I can think about doing is lounging in my comfy clothes with something to read and something to eat. So if that’s what I want, then that’s what I’ll do. It’s the perfect way to spend my only day off this week.

Ever since I moved to the Pacific Northwest, I noticed that I crave soups quite frequently. Perhaps the constant drizzle of rain, crisp air and smell of pine trees are to blame. Whatever it may be, all I know is that I’m always craving something warm and comforting.

Deciding what to eat for lunch was easy and I kept to my health journey. I had bone broth kale soup with a side of something I like to call vinegar tonic. The soup was simple to make and satisfied every bit of my craving. And the tonic was delicious, not at all sour as vinegar would imply. I also had some mandarin oranges for three reasons. One, they’re in season. Two, they’re delicious and three, everyone at work is sick and I refuse to get sick this season.


Although it’s only been four days since I’ve restarted my health journey, so far, this path of self-care has been a success!
